Warren Finch
Volunteer Advisor
Warren Luenberg Finch, Jr., joined the staff of the Bush library in January 1993 and was the first person on staff in College Station. He helped oversee the remodel of a former bowling alley into an archival facility so that it could accept and store Bush’s presidential and vice-presidential papers, audio-visual materials and artifacts while a permanent building was under construction on the campus of Texas A&M University. He served at the Library as an Archivist, Supervisory Archivist, and Deputy Director prior to being appointed Director on December 27, 2004. In December 2022 he retired after eighteen years as Director and thirty-three years with the National Archives. After retirement he and his wife Mary continue to live in College Station, their home for over thirty years, and remain active in the community. Together, Warren and Mary have three grown children: Anne, Kathleen, and Joseph.
