On the eve of Operation Desert Storm, at the end of the final pre-war briefing in January 1991, Secretary of Defense Richard Cheney asked the VII Corps commander, “How will it all end?”
The 35th anniversary of America’s final conventional conflict of the twentieth century offers us an opportunity to reflect on its nature. Historian, Desert Storm veteran, and author Stephen Bourque examines the war from tactical, operational, and strategic perspectives. He challenges the perspective that it was a simple, decisive victory, and reminds us how the Allied Coalition fought it, how it ended, and how we should remember this war as an event in American history.
Join us as we welcome Professor Stephen Bourque on Wednesday, February 18, at noon in the Malek Theater of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. The event is free but seating is limited. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
