
George & Barbara Bush Foundation Appoints Alice Gonzalez Yates as CEO
COLLEGE STATION, Texas, February 18, 2025 – The George & Barbara Bush Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Alice Gonzalez Yates as its Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2025. Yates, a respected leader in nonprofit management and fundraising, was selected by the Board of Directors to succeed Secretary Andrew H. Card, Jr.
“Coming off the wonderful momentum of celebrating President Bush’s centennial, we are excited to welcome a new leader who truly understands the profound importance of the legacies of George and Barbara Bush while, as an Aggie, appreciates the enduring relationship that President Bush had with Texas A&M,” said Hap Ellis, President of the Board of Directors for the George & Barbara Bush Foundation. “Alice’s long association with the Bush School of Government and Public Service, and Texas A&M, will be essential in ensuring that our Foundation can continue to advance these remarkable legacies and their spirit of selfless service across the A&M campus, the Bush School Washington campus, the Bryan/College Station community, and beyond.”
Yates brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and development with deep ties to Texas A&M University. Most recently, she has played an instrumental role in advancing strategic partnerships and initiatives as the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government & Public Service in Washington, D.C.

Yates holds a master’s degree from the University of West Florida in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University. A native of San Antonio, Texas Alice attended Texas A&M with the scholarship support of the local A&M Club, Texas FFA, and the College of Ag & Life Sciences Development Council. She credits these gifts and her family for setting the example of leadership through service that inspired her professional work in communities across the country and overseas. Alice is a recipient of the Texas Governor’s Office “Yellow Rose of Texas” award for her work supporting military families and is a past recipient of Texas A&M’s prestigious Buck Weirus Spirit Award.
In addition to professional and service work, Alice is most proud to be the wife of fellow Aggie and Retired Air Force Colonel Nick Yates and mother to Ry, Cord, and Cael.
